Conditions and the Disability Tax Credit

No condition qualifies or fails to qualify. The CRA does not assess diagnoses. It assesses how an impairment affects specific activities of daily living, as certified by a medical practitioner. Two people with the same condition routinely get different determinations.

These pages do not tell you whether you qualify, because nobody can. They show which of the CRA's assessment categories a practitioner usually speaks to in each situation, and the detail they will need from you.

Not listed here? The categories are the same for everyone, and the self-check walks through all of them.
